NHS Treatments

At Turncroft Dental Practice, we’re proud to provide high-quality NHS dental care for patients of all ages. Our NHS services focus on essential treatments to maintain good oral health, prevent problems, and restore function where needed — all delivered with the same care and attention as our private treatments.

What’s Included with NHS Dental Care

NHS dentistry covers the clinically necessary treatments you need to keep your teeth, gums, and mouth healthy. This can include:

  • Regular dental check-ups and oral health advice
  • Fillings, crowns, and bridges where needed for function
  • Extractions for teeth that cannot be saved
  • Root canal treatments to address infection
  • Preventative care such as scale and polish (where clinically required)
  • Dentures to restore missing teeth

Your treatment will always be based on what is medically necessary, rather than cosmetic preferences.

NHS Dental Bands & Costs

NHS dentistry in England is arranged into three standard bands, ensuring you know the costs upfront:

  • Band 1 – Covers an examination, diagnosis, and advice, plus X-rays or a scale and polish (if clinically needed).
  • Band 2 – Includes all Band 1 treatments plus fillings, root canal treatments, and extractions.
  • Band 3 – Includes all Band 1 and 2 treatments plus more complex procedures like crowns, dentures, and bridges.

Charges are set nationally by the NHS and may change each year. Our reception team can advise you of the current fees before you book.

Our Commitment to NHS Patients

We believe everyone deserves access to reliable, compassionate dental care. Our team takes the time to explain your treatment options clearly, answer any questions, and make your visit as comfortable as possible.

We will always discuss whether a treatment is available under the NHS or if a private alternative may be more suitable, so you can make an informed decision.
